Computer Technology
Computer is a device that accept data and
manipulates data for some result based on program on how the data is to be
processed.
Complex computer also include the means for
storing data for necessary duration. A program may invariable and built into
the computer or different program may provided into computer. Today’s computer
have both programming.
Computer Technology is the study of the hardware
and software that are the foundations of modern computer systems. Computers are
now a fundamental part of everyday lives, controlling everything from toasters
to nuclear power stations. The need to build and deploy effective computing
infrastructure is now crucial to business and other organizations.
Operating
systems are computer programs that control computers – allowing us to store
information and run application software. They must support new hardware with
multiple processors, ever faster and larger memories and a myriad of
accessories and add-ons. You’ll go beyond Microsoft Windows to learn about
alternative operating systems, how operating systems work, and how to set up
secure systems.
Modern computer systems depend on the networks
that interconnect them. Once built on telephone lines, these networks now run
on optical fibers and carry millions of voice and video conversations. The
demand for people who have the skills to build new and better networks is ever
expanding; today’s applications require more speed, mobility, reliability and
capacity than yesterday’s, and tomorrow’s networks will even more. You’ll gain
those skills – learning from networks lecturers who have significant industry
experience themselves, and who can show you cutting-edge research and
development in this field.
In 1833
the English scientist
C. Babbage developed a plan for an “analytical
machine”—a giant adding
machine with programmed
control and arithmetic
and memory units.
How-ever, he was not
able to complete this
project, primarily be-cause the technology
was not sufficiently
developed at that time. Material on this
machine was published
only in 1888, after
the author’s death.
Only 100 years
later did Babbage’s
research attract the
attention of engineers, but mathematicians took
immediate note of it. In 1842 the Italian mathematician Menabrea
published his notes
from lectures given
by Babbage at Turin on the analytical machine.
There are so many version of computer and mobile computer which are very fast
and capable than earlier.
Types of computer
There are different
types of computer based on generation and size.
The major types of
computers are:
1. Super
computer.
2. Mainframe
computer.
3. Minicomputer.
4. Microcomputer.
The types of computer
based on generation are given below:
1. First
generation.
2. Second
generation.
3. Third
generation.
4. Fourth
generation.
5. Fifth
generation.
